ABOUT KATHI


Kathi, although introduced to the work at the age of 14, began her Classical Pilates training in 1982 and has had the privilege to study with First Generation teachers Romana Kryzanowska, Lolita San Miguel, Kathy Grant, Sari Mejia Santo, Jay Grimes, and Edwina Fontaine. She was a Romana’s Pilates Level 2 Trainer. She completed comprehensive training through the Pilates Studio, Romana’s Pilates, Authentic Pilates, and Lolita San Miguel’s PMMP Program. She has been certified by the National Pilates Certification Program and is a Guild Certified Feldenkras Practitioner.In April 2022, Kathi along with Balanced Body, produced and launched the KRN Pilates-The Red Thread Method App. A one-of-a-kind application, which puts the Red Thread Method in the palm of your hand.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS



How to Build the Exercises is a three-pronged program that will consist of the following learning methods:

  • Workshops with Kathi Ross Nash
  • Classes with your assigned mentor
  • Homework


You will need the following to be able to participate in the program:


You will need to do the following in order to get a certificate at the end of the program:

  • Attend ALL classes and workshops with Kathi and your assigned mentors (recordings will be available for those in Europe and Asia)
  • LIVE attendance of the two Q&A sessions if you missed one of the live workshops or classes
  • Participation in the Q&A sessions if you missed one of the live workshops or classes
  • Completion of all homework and quizzes
  • Final assessment (Note: Selected candidates will be invited by Kathi to her teachers' program)

Meet the mentors

Amanda Villareal
Amanda Villarreal lives in Monterrey, Mexico. Her passion for teaching Pilates started whileshe was dancing and felt all the benefits. She opened her studio Inside Pilates 20 years ago and soon was certified by Power Pilates under Bob Liekens and Susan Moran in 2002/2003. Since then she has been a full-time teacher, teaching clients effective workouts.She met Kathi Ross-Nash six years ago, graduated from Pilates Professional AdvancedTeacher Trainer, and was hand-picked by her to be part of her group of teachers.
Emily Smith-Wilson
Emily Smith-Wilson holds a B.S. in Exercise Physiology-Sports Training and Conditioning and a minor in Coaching from the University of Minnesota. She began teaching Pilates in 2004 and has used the Method to not only restore movement in all of her clients but also to train herself as a world-class athlete and member of the 2020 US National Women’s Ultimate Frisbee Team. Emily is located in Bozeman, Montana, where she can be found outside hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, and getting as much fresh air as possible. She is excited to continue deepening and sharing her understanding of the Pilates Method with Kathi Ross-Nash.

Keka Lamarca
Keka was first introduced to Pilates when she was 19 years old (1998) and certified in 2006 at Drago's Gym under Romana Krysanowska and Sari Mejia Santos. Outside of the Pilates domain, Keka is a certified Gyrotonic Instructor and Health Coach, certified by INN Integrative Nutrition. She also holds a college degree in Literature and Philosophy of Arts. She is the owner and manager of Keka Lamarca Pilates Estudio, a boutique Pilates studio in Santiago, Chile. She holds a certificate in the PPATT with Kathi Ross-Nash. When she started Pilates her dream was to learn from Kathi Ross-Nash and she's thrilled that this has happened and she can deepen her studies and work with her.

Marcia Hagemann
A native of Brazil, Márcia studied Classical Ballet as well as Modern Dance for 27 years. During her studies, she was introduced to the Pilates Method and was amazed at the benefits achieved through Pilates. She trained for three years with Cecilia Panelli, an instructor trained by Romana Kryzanowska. After moving to the United States in 2003, Márcia completed the Power Pilates 600-hour Comprehensive Training with Bob Liekens. In 2004, Márcia opened her own studio the Center of Life Pilates Studio in Thurmont, Maryland. From 2006 to 2018 Márcia was an International Teacher Trainer for Power Pilates, and during these years trained teachers in the US, Brazil, Japan, and Canada.In 2018 Márcia went through Kathi Ross-Nash’s training program, the Pilates Advanced Professional Teacher Training, The Red Thread®. She is currently training to become a Teacher of Teachers for The Red Thread® Program. Márcia is also a Pilates Method Alliance certified instructor.

Olga Harkola
Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher, Olga began her Pilates training in 2003 and has completed several comprehensive teacher training programs, including Power Pilates, and the WWJ program at Vintage Pilates. Olga’s thirst for knowledge and desire to bring the best to her students led her to Kathryn Ross-Nash and in 2018, Olga graduated from Kathi’s master-level program – Pilates Professional Advanced Teacher Training The Red Thread® (PPATT). After the completion of PPATT, Olga was invited to study and is currently studying/being mentored by Kathi Ross-Nash in her highly selective PPATT Teacher of Teachers program. Olga owns PilatesFocused home studio in Cary, North Carolina, USA. Her enthusiasm, constant drive to learn and improve, dedication, and passion for the Method are evident in her teaching. She continues teaching because of the changes and impact Pilates has on her clients’ health, physical fitness, and overall well-being.
